Principle of slagging of gas lift reverse circulation drill

The slagging principle of gas lift reverse circulation drill is to make use of the characteristics of gas rising faster, by injecting compressed air or nitrogen into the well to improve the gas density at the bottom of the well, so as to form a gas column. When the gas column reaches a certain height, the gravity of the gas column will make the cuttings and mud at the bottom of the well be carried to the well head to achieve the purpose of slag discharge.

The specific slag discharge process is as follows:

1. In the process of drilling, the rig carries cuttings and mud to the bottom of the hole through the drill pipe.

2. At the bottom of the well, compressed air or nitrogen is injected into the well through the jet port to form a gas column. The height of the gas column is greater than the distance from the bottom to the wellhead to ensure that cuttings and mud can be carried to the wellhead.

3. When the gas column is formed, the gravity of the gas column will carry the cuttings and mud from the bottom of the well to the wellhead. At the same time, the rising speed of the gas column also drives up the cuttings and mud at the bottom of the well.

4. When the cuttings and mud reach the wellhead, it is discharged out of the well through the slag removal device at the wellhead.

Through the slagging principle of the gas lift reverse circulation drill, the cuttings and mud at the bottom of the well can be removed effectively, and the drilling efficiency and safety can be improved.
