A reverse circulation rig/Reverse circulation Drilling Equipment  is a rig specifically designed to extract drilling fluid and cuttings from the wellbore in the opposite direction.

In a typical drilling operation, drilling fluid is pumped into the drill string and discharged through the nozzle of the bit, bringing cuttings to the surface. In reverse circulation drilling, however, drilling fluid is pumped into the annular space between the drill string and the wellbore, and then carries cuttings up the drill string.

This approach has several advantages over conventional drilling techniques. First, it allows for faster drilling rates as cuttings are removed more efficiently. Second, because the drilling fluid acts as a stabilizer, it minimizes the risk of borehole collapse or formation damage. In addition, it is particularly effective when drilling through loose or highly fluid loss formations.

Reverse circulation RIGS are commonly used in a variety of applications, including mineral exploration, water well drilling, and geotechnical investigations. They typically consist of a drill string, reverse circulation bit, mud pump, and drilling fluid and cuttings collection system.
