Air-Operated Reverse Circulation Drilling Unit

A gas lift reverse circulation drill equipment /Reverse circulation drillinbg machine is a drill that uses gas (usually air) to achieve reverse circulation drilling. The principle is as follows:

Drilling fluid enters the wellhead, is injected through the drill pipe to the bottom of the well, and is then ejected through the drill bit to impact the rock and bring the cuttings back to the surface.

 In traditional circulation drilling, the drilling fluid builds a hydrostatic column pressure at the bottom of the hole, which prevents formation water from entering the hole and helps bring cuttings back to the surface.

 In the gas lift reverse circulation rig, gas rather than liquid is used as the working medium. When gas is injected from the drill pipe to the bottom of the well, the pressure of the gas creates a gas column that brings the cuttings back to the surface.

 Because the density of gas is smaller than that of liquid, the density of gas column is smaller than that of liquid column in gas lift reverse circulation drilling rig, which can reduce the erosion of drilling fluid on formation and the impact on the bottom hole formation.
